Cycladic Islands
Ready for some really fast sailing packed with lots of fun nightlife and a good run through the major islands of the Cyclades?
Our 14 day programs through the Cycladic Islands guarantees you lots of sailing training with our captain, fast winds and great exercise because our Captain will need everyone on board participating if you have decided on a 7 or 14 day adventure program.
The Cyclades are the most popular Greek for good reason – an abundance of beautiful sandy and pebble beaches combined with great archeological sites, typical white sun bleached houses with blue windows and doors, stunning views, sunsets and an entire range of nightlife: ranging from the Jet setting European and American fashion industry to the Artist and Writers community from around the world. The Cyclades have something for everyone but don’t except to find a great many trees. The cyclades are also very famous for barren rough landscapes and cool summer breezes that easily drop Greece’s typical 38-44c to a comfortable 35 degrees Celsius.
Our 14-day Cyclades adventure program starts in Athens and its first stop the little island of Kithnos for your first taste of the crystal clear waters of the Cycladic islands. The waters are so clear that you think that you can touch the bottom – don ‘t be fooled depths of clarity can be well over the 40 meter mark. Another surprise the Cyclades have in store for you are their cool waters.
 The Cycladic waters don’t warm up until well into August and September but they are a refreshing delight from the hot summer sun. Next stop Milos – an impressive island who’s’ beauty really can only be seen by boat. Milos has a range of blue waters and a multitude of caves for some fantastic underwater diving, cave swimming, snorkeling and rock collecting. The beaches range from fine white sand to pebble beaches with pebbles in the entire spectrum of colors. Its multitude of inlets and coves makes Milos a perfect location for out of harbor anchoring and general adventuring for discovery.
After Milos, you are on your way to Serifo where its town is rested on top of the mountainside and where you will enjoy an impressive view from one of the restaurants that have their balconies perched on the hillside. Its at least a 4km walk up but most people take the bus that picks you up from your boat each half hour. There is a wonderful trail that cuts through the mountains and many people walk it down to burn off some calories from their lunch but be sure to ask the locals where it is because its hidden away and was used as a secret passage during the wars.
From Serifo your next stop the warm and friendly island of Paros – where you can enjoy great wine and really good food. Paros is well taken care of and you have a chance to get lost in its maze of little white alleys and hundreds of hundreds of little shops - be sure to save some money because your next stop is Mykonos that has the latest fashion trends.
Paros and neighboring island Naxos experience high winds, especially during the Meltemia and cool summer evenings – but not to worry because your Captain will know all the great spots to keep you protected. The islands of Paros and Naxos are home to much of the island music and great deals of Greece’s famous island music singers come from Naxos or Paros. You will enjoy lovely island music, great wine, and good cheeses that easily compete with any cheese of France and much more. Hope you have rested up by now because you are on your way to the island that doesn’t sleep Mykonos.
 Mykonos, famous for its wild nightlife, good combination of quiet beaches and beaches where the sand dances with you from the music. Nothing is more fun than to have your Catamaran anchored only meters away from the best beach parties in the Cyclades.
Mykonos has a labyrinth of little white alleys that start to look alike if you are bar hopping! Your captain will have securely moored up in the harbor to wait for you after your all night adventure. Mykonos is not the island that you want to be anchored out unless your Captain is sure of the weather conditions because Mykonos can pick up wind speeds way over a gale force 5. Gale force 5 is great for some really fast sailing but not so great to be on anchor. For Mykonos we always suggest to our clients – to tie up for the night in the harbor.
Had enough of the wild nightlife? – You are off to Dilos for an archaeological excursion. One of the largest and most famous in Greece. It’s a one-day trip and overnights are not allowed so from there we are off to Tinos.
Tinos is the home of the “Crying Virgin Mary” icon where thousands of people go on the 15th of August, the Virgin Mary’s name day according to Greek Orthodox religion. It’s a wonderful celebration that many people, regardless of religion, come to experience. From Tinos you are on your way to the island of Siros, which is the “capital” of the Cycladic islands.
 Siros is a must see for its impressive architecture, its roman influence and combination of Greek-Roman cultures mixed in one harmonias island. If you like architecture, Siros is the place to see. After Siros we slowly start to make our way back through the rest of the Cycladic islands of Greece to do our last stop in Tzia (Khea), famous for its rugged beauty and protected coves to guard you from the winds and let you enjoy your last night in total quietness. Tzia is not a big tourist island but rather mostly visited by Greeks and gives you a good local flavor to enjoy.
